Action
“Action speaks louder than words!" Christ referred many times to this common expression. On daily basis news reports often point out that people are dissatisfied with the failure of business and government to move into action to deal with the various environmental and economic crises, real or imagined, that make headline news. Of the religious crowd in Christ’s day He said, "This people honoureth me with their lips but their heart is far from me." (Mark 7:6) A crime is committed against an individual and passive on-lookers take no action to stop the criminal. When the children of Israel were in bondage in Egypt, God determined to save them from their bondage. Action was required. There are other examples. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice. By faith Noah prepared an ark to the saving of his house. By faith Abraham obeyed God and went out of Mesopotamia on his spiritual sojourn. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, the Lord took action. Christ became a man and gave His life that you and I might be saved from sin. That was action. When Christ arose from the grave to give mankind life everlasting – that was action. When you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit of God dwells within you. That is action. God has preserved His word for you in the Bible, that you and I might find life and direction for our lives. That is action. If you are not a Christian, you need to take action. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9) After you have trusted Christ by faith as your Savior, it is important that you learn the Bible. You should take part in the Bible-preaching, Bible-teaching ministry here at Tabernacle. Take action!
