Peace On Earth
A phrase seen on Christmas cards and heard in Christmas songs is “peace on earth.” It is a phrase derived from Luke 2:14 which says, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
The peace spoken of in Luke 2 is a peace that will not take place until the Prince of Peace is ruling on earth. Isaiah 9:6-7 – For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
But until then, there is a real peace, a supernatural peace available now; it is individual peace. Ephesians 2:13-15 – But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
This peace is obtained by placing your trust in Christ as your Savior. Romans 5:1 – Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Do you have real peace?
