Who Owns the Land of the Palestine?
Years ago the Mad Man of Terhan, not to be confused with the Mad Man of Gadera whose mind returned to him when he turned to Christ (Mark 5), advised the world that the land of Palestine does not belong to Israel. I rejected his “advice.” Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressing the UN General Assembly on September 26, 2012, said, “The occupation of Palestine and imposition of a fake government” by Israel is an obstacle to world peace. When speaking from his own homeland he is more direct; where on October 26, 2005 to express hatred for Israel he quoted Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of Iran’s Islamic revolution, when he said, “As the Imam said, “Israel must be wiped off the map.”
So who owns the land of Palestine?
When God called Abraham (Abram) out of Ur of the Chaldees (Gen.11) he promised to him a land that would belong to him and his seed forever in Genesis13:14-15, And the Lord said unto Abram,…For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. The land promised to Abraham is identified as a land mass that includes the territory of modern day Israel in Genesis 15:18, In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
The land boundaries identified here encompass what today is called the Middle East. The promise to Abraham’s seed is very specific and is confirmed only to Abraham’s son Isaac in Genesis 26:3-5. The promise is further confirmed only to Isaac’s son Jacob (Israel) in Genesis 28:13-15. The Arab nations who occupy the Middle East are usurpers in the land God promised to Israel. The Bible has no problem clarifying the “issue.” The problem is that the world, and many professing Christians, have rejected what the Bible says.
